The GERTI Pumpkin Walk will be at Evergreen Community in Olathe on
Saturday, October
22, 2011. Proceeds from this fundraiser will fund education for
long-term care employees. The education focuses on the philosophy of
Person Directed Care. This philosophy is growing across the country and
GERTI continues to be a leader in providing Person Directed Care education in
Kansas, Missouri, and across the country. Person Directed Care enhances
the lives of both residents and employees. It gives respect, dignity,
privacy, and choices back to the residents and helps employees grow as
individuals. No longer should nursing homes be viewed as a place to go
to die, but as a place for people to continue to live and grow.
